I specifically remember being told that I could be anything I wanted when I grew up. But I wanted to be a ballet dancer or a centaur, yet nobody could shrink my ankles, lower my center of gravity, or give me hooves. It’s a tragedy of unmet potential.

Adobe wants to untether me from my human limitations. Yet I am still bound by the limits of a prompt written in the English language. Understandably, we don’t often need to provide insane details a computer might require to create something coherent to reality. There are no sliders for realism or film grain, so digital images tend to work best.

It’s difficult to control the creative output. And when the input is wild already, the results can be even better. I discovered the top halves of dinosaurs in a parking lot and the water was actually green. Life is a strange thing.

As of June 2023, I’d say my real legs are still better than AI. My actual legs look better, while being functional. But I know I’d never find ballet slippers in my size, so I do appreciate the opportunity to wear fake ones.

And how will we know when the fake legs are good? How much is Adobe willing to invest to convert me into a believable centaur? Is it all about the angle? I can try it again at a 3/4 to see, but this is enough nonsense for today.
